Elgin County Museum
Rectangular cradle suspended on wooden frame.
The following information was obtained from a letter written to Miss. E. Lewis from Mrs. R. Germain. This letter is in the archives collection. The cradle was the property of Colonel Airey, the nephew of Colonel Talbot. When Colonel Airey left Canada he gave the cradle to Mrs. Robert Blackwood whose husband was a pioneer merchant at Fingal. She then gave it to Mrs. George Sutherland of the Fingal manse at the birth of her daughter Alison. Alison later gave it to the Elgin Historical Society.
