The District Passenger Agent keeping the traffic department in his territory informed of the conditions in his territory endeavoured to stimulate travel by advertising the advantages of their railroad line and the area and resorts reached by it; by organizing excursions, watching and facilitating the movement of organized bodies such as lodges, delegates to conventions and theatrical companies. They could make and confirm reservations, sell tickets to passengers, as well as for large hotel or motel chains. They may check baggage and direct passengers to designated tracks. They could deliver tickets, arrange for visa, contact individuals and groups to inform them of package tours and provide tourists with travel information.
