Scope and Content
Four black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published February 10, 1967 with captions:
"Kept Back By Heat- Intense heat from the spiralling gas flames at first kept firemen from advancing any more than about 20 yards from the burning fuel carrier and workshop at the Central Pipe Line plant yesterday (February 9, 1967). More photographs on front page, second section." (1a) Mac Chapman is pictured at centre. He worked at Aylmer Tire Service and served as a volunteer firefighter.
"Keep Flames From Truck- Firemen played hoses on a second propane truck parked next to the burning workshop, fearing that it was full of gas and likely to blow its release valves in the intense heat. However, it was learned later that the tank was empty." (1b)
"Coffee Break- With gas still burning in the background, firemen took time out for a 6 p.m. coffee at the scene of the Central Pipe Line Co. Ltd. fire yesterday. They left only after all the gas had burned itself out and there was no danger of the fire rekindling itself." (1c)
"Wall Of Flames- The burning propane gas truck acted as a blow torch to destroy the workshop in which it had been located at the Central Pipe Line Co. Ltd. plant in Aylmer yesterday. Heat from the twin fingers of blazing gas could be felt 50 yards from the scene." (1d)

Scope and Content
Two black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published April 22, 1980 with captions:
"Where There's Smoke- Aylmer firemen pour water onto fire that left six persons homeless Monday afternoon when their three-suite converted house at 12 Maple Street burned. Fire Chief Bob Aviss said he believes fire spread from nearby garden refuse that the owner of the house was burning." (18a)
"Fire Leaves Six Homeless- A fire that left six persons homeless Monday afternoon in Aylmer might have been prevented if the town had a bylaw governing outdoor burning, Fire Chief Bob Aviss said today. Such a bylaw, rejected by council 18 months ago, would have allowed tighter control over garden refuse fire that Chief Aviss said he believes is responsible for fire that broke out in a three-suite converted house at 12 Maple Street. See story, picture on page 6." (18b)

Scope and Content
Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published October 8, 1971 with caption: "Fire Protection Exercise- The 1,050 students of East Elgin Secondary School had a dramatic introduction to Fire Prevention Week, yesterday morning, when a mock fire staged by school staff and the Aylmer Fire Department sent students into the streets. EESS Principal T. C. Cunniffe is seen here, trying his hand at operating the fire house. From left to right, are Mr. Cunniffe, Aylmer Fire Chief Bob Aviss, Rosemary Lawrence, Kim Merrick, Christine Asselstine, Jackie Zimmer, Karen Kristoff, Anne Enns and Rhonda Pressey.
