It may be an indication that bluebirds are becoming more plentiful. Probably no bird is closer to the hearts of many people, who, over the years, have grieved their gradual decline. In the above picture a female bluebird is about to enter the 1 1/2 inch hole in a fruit can which the pair have been utilizing for a nest. Walter Auckland of Talbotville, who said he had not seen a bluebird for many years, was surprised that the birds came to his yard and took over the can that he had nailed to the top of the fence."

Scope and Content
Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published June 5, 1965 with caption:" When 'Misty', a palamino owned by Leonard Knight, 16 Park Avenue, was injured and became seriously ill, most horse experts predicted she would die, and is she lived, would never foal. 'Misty' was so sick that for six months, she hung in a sling, suspended from the rafters in the barn, But last week she gave birth to a filly, four years after the accident. Mr. Knight is seen holding the animal while the baby contemplates dinner."
