Item consists of the Canadian Almanac for 1863, inside of which is the "County of Elgin Directory" profiling the following: The County's history (including biographical information on Thomas Talbot); early commercial activity; maintenance of the Port Stanley harbour; assessment values; population figures (including a demographic profile based on ethnicity and religious affiliation); overview of the court system, and a profile of schools and churches.

Directories for 1943-1948 acquired in 1986 by the Elgin Historical Society. Stored as part of a much larger collection at the Elgin County Pioneer Museum. Moved to basement of Yurek's Drug Store after Museum fire in 2001. Donated to Elgin County Archives in December 2002.

File R7 S3 Sh2 B1 F10 contains supplementary directory for Fingal and Shedden issued January 1966.
Large directory. The book is blue with white pillars and a building on the cover. Printed in yellow also on the cover, is "UNIVERSITY of GUELPH - Alumni Directory - 2000". Back cover and spine are white.
