Margaret Rickard, Elda Mae Horton (later Patterson), Winnifred A. Randall and Ruby E. Wintermute. Belmont Public School was also known as South Dorchester Township S.S. # 11 and as South Dorchester/Yarmouth/Westminster/North Dorchester U.S.S. # 11/20/12/20. The teachers are shown posed in front of the school and a plaque indicating the school's date of construction: 1887. The three-room school on Union St., Belmont was in use from 1887 until its closing in June, 1969.

Black and white photograph showing uniformed First World War soldier Ed Cock, posing in the doorway of a railway car, presumably at the time of his deployment for overseas service, possibly as part of the 91st Battalion, St. Thomas deployment on June 25, 1916. Cock was Elda Mae Horton Patterson's uncle. The women shown posing with Cock are identified as Annie Cock, left, Cock's sister; and Cock's wife Winnie Kendall Cock, right. Horton was Mayor of St. Thomas, 1918-1919. Born 1867; died May 3, 1954, age 86. Father of Dorothy Horton Futcher. Long-serving member of the Board of Governors of Amasa Wood Hospital and Memorial Hospital, St. Thomas. President of the Ontario Oriental Flour Co., St. Thomas, for more than 50 years. Horton was the (unsuccessful) Liberal Party candidate in Elgin West in the Ontario Provincial Election of June 25, 1923. Isabel Allison Horton was born in 1872 and died in 1956.
