Colonel Talbot Home. One of 50 original glass "lantern" slides created in 1933 by Rev. Canon Norman Morris as part of a project to document the domestic architectural heritage of West Elgin. Slides were originally shown as part of a presentation by Rev. Morris to the Elgin Historical Society, November 6, 1933 entitled "Old Houses of West Elgin." Most of the images were subsequently printed in the Elgin Historical Society publication "Houses of Elgin County: Houses of West Elgin", 1998. Published as item number B-1 in "Houses of West Elgin" (Elgin Historical Society, 1998) p. 18.

Thomas Talbot's mill prior to 1814. Through their efforts the stone was moved to Memorial Park, Port Glasgow." Published by the Mercury-Sun on December 1, 1954. (W11 B4 247). Doug Walker was an undertaker in Rodney.
The associated newspaper clipping has been placed in the envelop with the photographs.

Eva Cosens (nee Thompson) was born in Harrow, Ontario to the late Lennox and Silina Thompson. She was a long-term resident of West Lorne, Ontario with her husband, Sydney Cosens, and was known locally for writing articles on community and historical affairs. She often signed her articles with the initials "ETC". She died on May 29th, 1968 in St. Thomas and is buriend at the Colchester Cemetery in Harrow, Ontario.
