Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published December 3, 1965 with caption: "They Work for Others - This picture of busy women sewing diligently for disaster victims around the world was taken yesterday in the Red Cross Headquarters, St. Thomas Branch, Wellington Street. Garments for infants and children, clothing for adults, bedding and many other necessary items are made by these volunteer workers. The Women's Institutes in Elgin County have answered a request for volunteer aid by sending members from many of its branches, and hope has been expressed by L.J. Anderson, president of the local branch, that this will become more active and expanded as the new year begins. Shown, left to right, are Mrs. Clyde Bond, Mrs. John McGugan, who is a long-time local volunteer, Mrs. Ernest Shelley, Mrs. Clarence Raine and Mrs. Floyd Kipp. With the exception of Mrs. McGugan, all are members of the South Yarmouth Women's Institute."

Scope and Content
One black and white photograph shows Christopher S. Moore (1824-1914), son of Asa Moore and Harriet Buddew and a native of Newfoundland. Christopher Moore served for fourty years as secretary of the Trustee Board of Union Methodist Church and was caretaker of the church and cemetery. In the choir, before organs were available, he started the hymns with a tuning fork. Included in the South Yarmouth Women's Institute Tweedsmuir History, Volume One.

One photograph shows the dam at Dadson's Pond near Union. The small boy fising is George Matheson with a friend. The property was later owned by Richard Sanders, a barrister and former mayor of St. Thomas. Dadson's sawmill was located back from the side road, running north from Plains Baptist Church. Included in the South Yarmouth Women's Insitute Tweedsmuir History, Volume One.

One black and white photograph shows Denzil D. Finch and his wife Amy Isabella Charlton Finch of Mapleton. Mrs. Finch was one of the early presidents of the East Elgin District and helped to establish the South Yarmouth Women's Institute in 1920. Their daughter, Mrs. Clara Finch Ingram was president of South Yarmouth Women's Institute 1947-1949. Included in the South Yarmouth Women's Institute Tweedsmuir History, Volume One.

Information provided by Bruce Johnson in March 2019: Edith Helen McKNIGHT, school teacher at Dexter, 1898. She married Daniel Duncan CAMPBELL in 1902 at St. Thomas. He was a Jeweler in St. Thomas and died 1946. Further biographical information that was provided by Bruce Johnson was added to the Tweedsmuir History, next to the photograph.

Scope and Content
One black and white photograph shows Dr. George H. Jackson and Mrs. Carrie J. Brown Jackson. Dr. Jackson came to Union as a doctor in 1897. He married Miss Carrie J. Brown in 1898. He served Union for twenty two years, before they moved to Port Stanley. Here he served as Reeve and Coronor for the district. He died in Port Stanley on December 28, 1946. Mrs. Jackson led the local Patriotic Society during the First World War and was an active member of the Union community. She was also a member of the Union Church choir. Included in the South Yarmouth Women's Institute Tweedsmuir History, Volume One.

The house on the north side of the road in 1928 [87b];
The front [88a] and back [88b] of the golf club house, built in 1923. The photographs were taken in 1930.
