Scope and Content
Two black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published January 26, 1967 with captions:
" The ornate addition of sombreros to red tunics provided a touch of humor and a touch of style as members of the Royal Canadian Regiment Band tackled the horn-blowing sounds of 'Tijuana Taxi' to the approval of CECI students and staff. Between 1964 and 1965 the band performed to more than 150,000 high school students." (3a)
" With a smile of approval at the precision percussion timing, Sgt. I. Turnbull, (right) highlights with his tambourine the rhythm of a toe-tapping folksong. Sgt. Cliff Smith, who also plays the popular xylophone, concentrates on a timely drum roll, during yesterday's performance to students of the Central Elgin Collegiate Institute. The RCR Band will soon begin a cross-Canada tour with their 'Interlude For Music.' " (3b)
