Two black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published January 7, 1953 with captions:
"Friends from near and far today visited the bier at Knox Presbyterian Church of the Hon. Mitchell F. Hepburn, former Premier of Ontario, who died early Monday." (5a)
"Although the family requested that friends refrain from sending floral tributes, never has there been so many flowers at a funeral in St. Thomas and district. They came from all parts of Canada and from the United States, hundreds of beautiful wreaths, sprays, baskets, pillows and designs. The floral tributes were banked against all four walls of the double parlors at the L. B. Sifton Funeral Home and around the coffin, with no room available to place many others in the rooms where Mr. Hepburn rested at the funeral home. The floral tributes were so numerous that only a small number could be moved to Knox Church, where the body rested in state from eleven o'clock this morning. Floral designs came from the Provincial and Federal governments; from departments of government; ministers of the Crown; and from many of Canada's largest business and industrial corporations.
