Robert Marshall Anderson presented the 91st Overseas Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force with its colours at a ceremony in Pinafore Park, St. Thomas, on May 24, 1916. The colours were deposited in Canterbury Cathedral, England by regimental officers in August 1916.

Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal on April 17, 1950, page three: “Bandsmen Formulate New Polices.” 2_3499: “The Elgin Regiment Trumpet Band was host Sunday afternoon to the quarterly meeting of the Canadian Bugle and Trumpet Bands Association, held at the Wilson Avenue armory and attended by about 60 representatives of bands from many cities throughout southern Ontario. Business covered during the all-afternoon session included formulation of a new basis for competition at the Waterloo Music Festival this summer, Prof. C.F. Thiele, organizer of the festival, being present from Waterloo to offer his guidance. Also formulated was the policy under which other musical events of he coming season will be conducted, particularly as it applies to completion between bugle and trumpet bands at tattoos and festivals. Prominent among those present at the meeting were, left to right above: Roy Manning, Toronto, first vice-president: James Jackson, Toronto, second vice-president, Clarence Chessel, Toronto, secretary; Lorne Kelterborn, Toronto, president; A.B. Ellis, St. Thomas, immediate past president, Prof. C.F. Thiele, Waterloo.”

Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal on January 18, 1950, page one: “Area Commander Welcomes New Men Joining Elgin Regiment. 2_3009: “new men coming to the Elgin regiment were among a group of veteran members of he unit who greeted Brigadier J.A.W. Bennett, C.B.E., commander of Western Ontario Area of Central Command, during his first official visits to the regiment on Tuesday evening. The men in the above group photograph, taken while the brigadier talked informally with them around a small sand table, are all members of either of the two new platoons being set up within the regiment the scout platoon commanded by Capt. R.L. Chantler, and the precision drill platoon, commanded by Major R.S. Chamberlain, M.C. Three in the group who were still in civies and have yet to be outfitted, were commanded by the brigadier on the spirit they have shown in coming out with the regiment. With Brigadier Bennett in the centre of this group are, left to right, Pte. G.H. Haycook, Pts. K.F. McKay, Pte. W. R. McDonald, Pte. A.R. Dennis (union), Capt. Chantler, Brigadier Bennett, Major Chamberlain, Pte. F. Murphy, and Pte. E. Hartsell.”

Scope and Content
A colour photograph featuring five crew members posing in beside the Canadian National Railways Locomotive special troop train celebrating the Elgin Regiment's 125th anniversary. From left to right, Engine crew members include the following individuals: Brian Smith, Brakeman; Don Stokes, Conductor; Joe Westlaken, Brakeman; John Karn, Brakeman; and unidentifed.
The train is composed of restored Locomotive No. 5700, baggage car No. 70740, Port Stanley Terminal Rail coaches No. 51, 52 and 53, and Canadian National Railways Locomotive No. 4136 pushing the train. The event was held on August 31, 1991 and was organized cooperatively by the Canadian National Railways, Canadian National Railways Brotherhoods, Canadian Pacific Railway, Port Stanley Terminal Rail, The Elgin County Railway Museum, the Elgin Regiment, and the Elgin Regiment's Militia.

Pictured at the crossing of Canadian Pacific Railway and Norfolk Southern Railway lines, the train is composed of restored Locomotive No. 5700, baggage car No. 70740, Port Stanley Terminal Rail coaches No. 51, 52 and 53, and Canadian National Railways Locomotive No. 4136 pushing the train. Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published April 20, 1978 with caption: "Lending a Hand - Clinic assistant Ann Pelesh checks the blood flow from Phyllis Beechey at the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic held Wednesday at Central United Church. The clinic had 266 persons give blood. Transportation to and from the clinic, the second of six to be held this year, was provided by the Elgin Regiment."
