"Busy Training - Peggy Green, seated, a St. Thomas girl with six per cent vision, is busy these days on a 10-month dictaphone typing course at CNIB headquarters in Toronto, a special course to train blind people for the working world. Looking on at Peggy's progress is supervising teacher Mrs. Moira Metcalfe. Peggy hopes her course will lead to a job in the medical secretarial field. Her six-per-cent-vision capabilities do not hinder the girl from enjoying a private life of her own in a city apartment and freedom to move about on her own. Peggy's blindess resulted from a brain tumor when 11 years old." (12a)
"Part of Studies - In order to learn the medical terminology required for a hospital secretarial position, St. Thomas girl Peggy Green, who has six per cent vision, along with fellow student Susan Giangioppo, study a class doll which opens to show the different organs and parts of the human body. Peggy is taking a 10-month dictaphone typing course at Toronto's CNIB headquarters and hopes the coruse will lead to a medical job, preferably back in St. Thomas." (12b)
