Digitized copy of a partial plan of the Township of Romney, County of Kent, dated June 27, 1799. The plan is signed by Mr. A. Iredell and an annotation from July 1800 says that his plans were used to create the map. Settler names are included; some have been written in at a later date, while others have been written over older names. Annotations concerning the allotment of land, placement of settlers, and the township boundaries are numerous; many are faded compared to the later additions. These annotations show that these documents were often works-in-progress, and would be revised and annotated further at later dates. Some lots have been marked with ‘R’, while lots labelled ‘Clergy’ are often accompanied by an ‘x’.
