History / Biographical
The development of the Village of Dutton began when the Canada Southern Railway was chosen to be placed there.
The village was named after the chief engineer of the Canada Southern Railway.
Dutton was incorporated as a village in 1891. On January 1, 1998 it amalgamated with the Township of Dunwich to form the Municipality of Dutton/Dunwich.
