No. 1 Technical Training School, St. Thomas, the R.C.A.F. No. 14 Service Flying Training School, Aylmer, or the R.C.A.F. No. 4 Bombing and Gunnery School, Fingal, ca. 1940. He was born on December 1, 1915 to William Earle and Mary Ruth Allison of Montreal, and died on November 20, 1944 at the age of 28 while fighting with the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War.

Studio portrait, possibly of Flight Lieutenant James Bennett, a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, ca. 1941. F/L Bennett enlisted in the R.C.A.F. in April, 1941 and served as a flying instructor in Aylmer. He went on to serve in various capacities with the R.C.A.F. throughout Ontario until he was discharged in February, 1945. This photograph was most likely taken during his time at the R.C.A.F. No. 14 Service Flying Training School in Aylmer. Additional information about F/L Bennett can be found in "A Tribute to Valour", page 52. Prior to his enlistment and during his time in Aylmer, F/L Bennett resided with his wife, Alice, at 21 West Avenue, St. Thomas.
