Photographs of a car wreck, with the front hood of the car ripped off and engine exposed, while people gather around the outside of the vehicle. Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, March 31, 1951, page one: “Car Knocked Out After Tangle With Locomotive.” 1_1777: “This picture shows what the front end of George Casey’s motor car looked like after its bout with C. & O. freight locomotive at the Main street crossing in Dutton Friday morning. Mr. Casey, on his way in from Wallacetown to Dutton with the mail, ran his car onto the crossing as the train came along. The locomotive sheared off the front end of the car almost as far back as the windshield, then spun the car around and damaged its rear end. Mr. Casey escaped with a shaking up and a few bruises. The portion of the hood ripped off from the car can be seen at the [right] of the photo.”
