History / Biographical
Ca. 1963, Earl W. Pearce, P. Eng., established Elgin Industrial Consultants Ltd., a mechanical/electrical consulting engineering business with offices located at 544 Talbot St., St. Thomas, Ontario. Mr. Pearce directed the company as President until staff engineer Jeffrey G. Haywood, P. Eng. became co-manager ca. 1975. Elgin Industrial Consultants Ltd. relocated ca. 1977 to 546 Talbot St., St. Thomas and again ca. 1979 to 548 Talbot St., St. Thomas. The company ceased operation ca. 1980.
Scope and Content
Fonds consists of correspondence, specifications, technical drawings and other records relating to various building construction projects involving Elgin Industrial Consultants Ltd., including St. Raphael's Separate School, St. Thomas; Assumption School, Aylmer; Delhi District Secondary School, Delhi; and 1964 and 1971 additions to the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital.
