Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published June 19, 1973 with caption:" More than 2000 articles have been sewn by volunteers of the Hospital Auxiliary Association of St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital who belong to the sewing group which is under the convenership of Mrs. William Judson. Every Wednesday afternoon for ten months of the year, these dedicated seamstresses gather to turn out garments without which it would be difficult for the hospital to maintain its needs. Left to right are pictured three of the faithful workers, Mrs. Del Avery, Mrs. Kenneth Bloye, and Mrs. Jack D. Ballantyne."

Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published Friday, October 6, 1972 with caption: "Hospital Aids United Appeal - Paul Dusten, second from left, assistant personnel officer at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital accepts a donation to the St. Thomas-Elgin United Welfare Services from patients, Thursday. Mr. Dusten is co-chairman of the Ontario government employees division of the appeal campaign. Staff members at the Hospital have reached the $4,000 mark of their $5,000 goal, and, although not solicited, patients expressed a desire to contribute to the campaign as well. Their money was raised through sales from a vegetable garden and from industrial therapy workshops. Presenting the cheque for $117 are patients from the No. 5 Pavilion Workshop and the Industrial Therapy section. At left is Miss Helen Somers, supervisor of activities and crafts at the hospital."

The machine provides a speedy analysis of the chemical components which formerly took much longer since it was done manually. Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published November 13, 1953 with caption: "A Good Effort- St. Thomas Kinettes, formed of wives of Kinsmen members, on Thursday evening presented Bruce Caldwell, chairman of the provisional board of the new St. Thomas-Elgin Memorial Hospital, with a $500 cheque, their second contribution to the hospital in their short history. The presentation was made at the Kinettes first monthly dinner meeting held at Norm Malloy's restaurant at which six new members were accepted into the club. The money will be used to purchase a plaque in memory of Mary Clibborn, charter member and past president of the Kinettes, and for equipping a 3-bed children's ward. Previously the club gave $1,000 for furnishing a private room. Beth Smale, president, is on the left in the photo. Next is Mrs. Gerry Somerville, immediate past president; Mrs. Ernest Dickenson, ways and means committee chairman; and Mr. Caldwell. New members who joined on Thursday evening were: Joan Magill, Mary Grant, Marion Emmott, Lucille Balsden, Hazel Hayes and Rowena Ross."
