History / Biographical
The church was established in 1848, with the present building being built in the late 1880s or early 1890s. Rev. John B. Brown, seated in the front row, fourth from the left, was minister at the church from 1893 until 1896. His salary was $500 per year.
Lennie Caswell was born on June 23, 1883 in Bayham Township. Her parents were Andrew Jackson Caswell and Mary Huldah Brown. She died on August 27, 1896, at the age of 13.

Scope and Content
Black and white photograph of First World War Soldier WIlfred Ernest Nelson (Regt. Number 3131443), included in the Eden Women's Institute Tweedsmuir History, Vol. 2, page 125. Nelson was born on March 15th, 1894* in Cottam, Ontario. He was drafted into the CEF in January, 1918 and served with the Canadian Infantry 31st Battalion in France and England. He was wounded in the Battle of Amiens in August, 1918, and returned home in April, 1919.
*N.B. The biography of Nelson included on page 125 gives his birth year as 1897, but his Attestation Papers give it as 1894.

Members of the congregation of Staffordville Church burning the church mortgage, 1975. The cornerstone of the church was laid by Mrs. robert Jackson and Mrs. Harry Grant on October 25, 1964, with Rev. Albert Cook officiating. The land on which the church was built was donated by C. D. Coyle Estate.
