Large black and white photo of a crowd in front of the court house which is decorated with flags and banners. On back: "Elaborate exterior decoration on Court House in St. Thomas on occassion of visit to city of H.R.H The Duke of Connaught and Princess Patricia. Color scheme: red, white and blue. Display made in sections in work room and placed in three hours time with help of four assistants. Decoration on stands and seats occupied by school children is completely hidden by crowd and portions not included in photo. Cost of material used. $175.00."
Framed table top sign, has metal side brackets for affixing to surface. Framed with wooden frame and glass. Sign reads ' NOTICE, The undersigned Commissioners respectfully respect the co-operation of the County Officials, their Clerks and the Public in general in the preservation of the Wall, Woodwork and Furniture of the Rooms and Halls of the Courthouse. Item was brought in by donor's grand daughter. The bag was originally used by her grandfather Read Brown of Sparta while he worked at the Elgin County Court House and Jail in St. Thomas. Wooden table, has three drawers along the front. Top of table is covered with black vinyl. Officially used at the Elgin County Courthouse, this table was purchased by donor at auction of Court House items c. 1985.
