Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published November 27, 1973 with caption: "At the recent Hi Neighbor coffee party, newcomers welcomed to their meeting at the YWCA, their guest Mrs. Kenneth McLaughlin, Talbotville, who brought along several beautiful quilts to show and explain some of the history of this fascinating hobby to newcomers to the city. In days gone by when the art of assembling and stitching a quilt was a necessity, quilting bees were an everyday occurrence rather than the enchanting hobby it has become today. The log cabin quilt, one of the oldest patterns displayed by Mrs. McLaughlin, right, is being admired by, from left, Mrs. Keith Ayers, Mrs. John Slatford and Mrs. A.A. McCormick, Hi Neighbor hostesses."
