Scope and Content
Two black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published June 14, 1969 with captions:
"A Helping Hand - Homework is a problem, especially to small boys who would much rather be out doors playing baseball, so Dad's help is always welcome. Here, Jim Miller talks over an assignment with his nine-year-old son, Norman, a student at Myrtle Street School." (1a)
"Being Together Brings Contentment - The noun, togetherness, means much to parents and children alike in the family of Mr. and Mrs. James Miller, 44 Fifth Avenue. And now that the family circle has opened wide to welcome another son and brother, being a unit means that much more. It was in March of this year that Norman, who was then eight (he has recently celebrated his ninth birthday), became Jim and Eleanor Miller's second son. A full-blooded Indian of the Ojibwa tribe, Norman is seen here with his parents, brother and sisters. From left to right are Marsha, 8; Mrs. Miller; Matt, 10, seated in front of Norman, 9, and Mary Kay, 6½. Mr. Miller is standing at the back." (1b)
