Partially visible at right is a Port Stanley beach amusement facility, possibly the roller coaster. View is looking east.

Scope and Content
Shows the arrival at of an electric-powered (locomotive number 6) passenger train at the London and Port Stanley Railway Beach Terminal at Port Stanley ca. 1920. The electrification of the L & PS system was completed in 1915. View is looking east along Edith Cavell Boulevard and includes the fence at the west end of the terminal platform, passengers entering and leaving the terminal platform, a weigh scale (1 cent for weight and fortune), the terminal shelter (the open-ended building at right) and the London and Port Stanley Railway ice house (partially visible directly to the east of the terminal shelter). The entrance to the Port Stanley Incline Railway is just out of the picture to the north (left). File includes:

View of the main beach and harbour entrance at Port Stanley, looking southeast from Fraser Heights, ca. 1914. View includes the London and Port Stanley Railway slip dock and tracks to the beach terminal; the west breakwater (pier) and lighthouse; the Stanley Beach Casino (later Hopkins Casino), which opened on July 1, 1909; a pleasure boat docked at the Casino pier (possibly the vessel "Rambler" shown in C3 Sh6 B1 F44); and the beach boardwalk (constructed 1908). This image pre-dates 1915, when the London and Port Stanley Railway was electrified (overhead wires and electric stanchions are absent in this image), and pre-dates 1917, when the London and Port Stanley Railway Bath House was constructed. Note that the ferris wheel formerly located immediately to the east of the Stanley Beach Casino (see image C3 Sh6 B1 F44) is absent in this image. File includes:

Black and white photograph of a London & Port Stanley Railway train consisting of Locomotive L5, a tank car, and an open 2-bay hopper car. Midlake Grains Limited in St. Thomas, Ontario is visible in the background.
Locomotive L5 was built by General Motors Diesel Division in 1957 and was used on the London and Port Stanley Railway until 1966 when it transferred to the Canadian National Railways and renumbered as CN locomotive 991. It is now being preserved at the Canadian Railway Museum in Delson, Quebec.

Locomotive L4 is a 1300 hp model G12 diesel-electric locomotive. It was built in 1955 by General Motors Diesel Division and was used by the London and Port Stanley Railway until it was transferred to the Canadian National Railways in 1966, where it was renumbered as CN Locomotive 991.

Scope and Content
One black and white photograph showing coaches of the No. 12 Type passenger train. The coaches measure 72 feet long and are all steel, 500 horsepower motor cars, equipped wth general passenger, smoking and express and baggage compartments. They are finished in inlaid mahogany and Pullman plush and are electrically heated and ventilated. L & PS began using electric-powered motor cars in 1915. Included in The London and Port Stanley Railway Annual Reports for years ending June 30th 1916-1917-1918-1919.
