"Other Angle - This picture shows the overall view of the scale model of Port Stanley harbor, built in a tank test in Ottawa. Note the breakwater in the left foregound which says W.S. Baird, coastal engineer, can aid in reducing the height of the waves during storms such as the one last October. The table and chair in the background give some idea of the size of the model." (2a) Includes a model of the west breakwater (pier).
"Controlled Conditions - The 100 by 80-foot test tank at the National Research Council in Ottawa is shown here containing a 1:72 scale model of Port Stanley harbor. A costal engineer said the best possible additions to the storm-troubled harbor would be extensions of 200 feet and 100 feet to the breakwaters, some dredging and the creation of a wave absorbing beach facing the channel's exposed entrance."
